I found this video on YouTube today and it is a perfect little clip showing off how to do the drill “One arm only Freestyle” with weak side breathing.
Drill: One arm only Free
4 x 25: Rad Lab 1 arm only FR
Rad lab = right arm down, left arm back. You only swim freestyle with your right arm on the whole first length, and then swim freestyle with your left arm only on the second length swim. Breath away from your stroking arm.
This drill is excellent for promoting hip rotation, anchoring of the stroking arm, and a good head roll to the side to promote better breathing. This is one of my favorite drills and especially successful when you use fins and then do it again without fins.
