Dryland Activities:
Question of the Day: Should you float up to the surface in streamline or curve to aim up at the surface?
Correct = Do 4 squat like a sprout and grow into streamline
Wrong = Do 6 squat like a sprout and grow into streamline and do a 20 second plank.
Warmup in water:
100 IM Kick
2 x 25 position 11.
Review 3 things for Streamline before first 25.
1) Lock your thumb.
2) Squeeze your ears (back of head).
3) Look down (with your whole face).
Review 3 things for Position 11 before second 25:
1) Keep your arms straight.
2) Stay at the surface (even when you breathe).
3) Look down (with your whole face).

1-4: BK with FINS
5-8: FREE
9-12: FLY K with FINS
Game: Witch’s Brew a Potion
Get two buckets.
Bucket 1 is the “potion.”
Bucket 2 is the “power source.”
As swimmers collect ingredients for their potions they pour a coach’s choice amount into their “Potion” from the “power source.”
If they’re too good at everything their potions will overflow and dillude. If they’re not good, then they won’t have enough power in their potion.
Make creative choices on powerful potions or not.
In the end, pour the potion over one person in each group and make up a story if it works or not.
Example:
“Your potion was so strong, so full of power that you burst into flame and incinerate all of your group because the Spring Sun was too potent.”
“Your potion was perfectly balanced with the power of Spring warmth and you and all of your group are now warm all the time, but comfortably warm without needing coats or blankets.”
